James Gray

James William Gray, 83, of Coffeeville, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born September 16, 1933 in Coffeeville to James P. and Clara Harrison Gray. He was a retired machine operator at Heatcraft and also owned his own business for over 35 years. He was an active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

He was actively involved in World Changers and Yalobusha County Disaster Relief program. He was honored with a resolution for his service to  Yalobusha County Baptist Association in 2009. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and spend time with his family.

Funeral services were Sunday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Truman Scarborough officiating and Mike Davis delivering the eulogy. Interment was in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Judy Tritt Gray, Coffeeville; daughters, Debra (Rex) Myhand, Guntown; Shelia (Mike) Davis, Plantersville, and Melissa (Don) Sheffield, Tupelo; step-daughter, Cindy (Tony) Burnette, Memphis; step-son, Scott (Kelly) Hayes, Germantown, TN; sisters, Betty Tritt and Shirley (James) Edwards, Coffeeville; brother, Henry Dean Gray, Coffeeville; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandsons, David Ferguson and William Jacob Sheffield.

Pallbearers were Dillon Burnette, Eric Davis, Jim Edwards, Timothy Edwards, Gaylon Gray, Nikoma Myhand and Ronnie Tritt.
