Wardine Ingram

Wardine “Dean” Harper Ingram, 92, and a resident of Lorain, passed away Monday, Oct. 2, 2017, following a full and meaningful life

She was born October 16, 1924, in Pittsboro. She was raised in Bruce,  and moved to Memphis in 1943. She had made her home in the Lorain County area for the last 59 years.

She was employed as a beautician by trade. She also transported cars for Ed Mullinax until the age of 80. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Amherst where she taught Sunday school. Her hobbies included gardening, knitting, and canning.

Survivors include son, Brian Keith (Rae Nell) Ingram, New London; daughter Jane Lynn (Robert) Smith, Lorain; granddaughter Courtney Smith, Weymoth, Ma.; sister Jean Drumwright, Collierville, Tn., and sisters-in-law, Faye Morris and Edna Earl Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jennings A. Ingram,  May 6, 1993; sisters, Ernestine Wilson in 1981 and Dorothy Calabio in 1991, and her parents Hubert S. and Lillian Collins Harper.

Friends may call Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Mayes, pastor of Good Shepherd Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.

Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Baptist Building Fund; 1100 Cleveland Avenue, Amherst, OH 44001.
