Jessie Mae Blaylock, 88, departed this life December 5, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Desoto-Southaven surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 27, 1929 in Derma. She was a devoted Christian lady, and a dedicated homemaker who loved cooking, gardening, flowers and praying for love ones. She dearly loved her family and church at Heritage Christian Life Center. Before retiring she worked at Block Drug Company of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Curtis and Clara Mae Vanlandingham Langford; her husband, J.T. Blaylock; son, Richard E. Blaylock; grandson, Ricky Blaylock and son-in-law, Bobby Marshall.
Survivors are son, John Timothy (Tina) Blaylock, Southaven; daughter, Mary Nell Marshall, Horn Lake; daughter-in-law, Betty Blaylock, Southaven; sisters, Inez Smith, Little Rock, AR; Eva Jane Rogers, Grenada; brothers, Jimmy Howard Langford, Pontotoc; Johnny Langford, Calhoun City; grandchildren, Bobby Ray, John and Robert Marshall, Sherrie Tilley; seven great grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Her funeral service was Saturday at Derma Pentecostal Church with Rev. James Sandy, Rev. Nathaniel Urshan, Rev. Bobby McCool, Rev. Lee Cook, Rev. Billy Patterson and S.P.C. Dylan Tilley. Burial was in Oak Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers were Johnny Langford, John Marshall, Robert Marshall, Billy Patterson, Dylan Tilley and Randall Tilley. Parker Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
