Arnie Lavone “Pop” Massey, 85, of Olive Branch, passed away at his home Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017. He was born February 29, 1932 in Slate Springs, to Chester and Evelyn Massey. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of MS State University. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a retired division land superintendent from the Texas Gas Corporation.
Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 2 from 2 pm until the service begins at 3 pm at Gracewood Baptist Church in Southaven. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Southaven.
Arnie was preceded in death by his daughter Angelia Massey Shumway. He is survived by his daughter, Gay Bynum, Olive Branch; son Tony Massey, Bartlett; sisters Barbara Holloway, Derma; Juanita Hamilton, Calhoun City; grandchildren, Kris Shumway, Samantha Perepichay, Akisha Gordon, Chelsea Moore, Wesley Massey and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Gracewood Baptist Church.
