Clytee Christian

Clytee Christian, 98 of Bruce, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Bruce Community Living Center. She was born June 5, 1920 in Calhoun County to Baxter and Rose Purvis Doss.
She was retired from the United States Civil Service, where she served as a secretary in locations throughout the world including Gernany, Italy, and France. She loved playing Bridge as a hobby, and was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church.
She leaves behind sisters Nell Rives, Marble Hill, Mo.; Maeuna Authur, Houlka; Mary L. Doss, Inverness, Fl., and Anita Bratton, Denison, Tx.
There will be a visitation with the family Thursday, Aug. 30 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce from 10 am until noon. A funeral service celebrating her life will begin immediately following visitation in the funeral home chapel starting at noon with Brother Jackie Douglass and Brother Sam Yarbrough officiating.
Interment will immediately follow the funeral service, with Mrs. Christian being laid to rest in Poplar Springs Cemetery in Vardaman. Serving as pallbearers will be Terry Arthur, Barry Doss, Ted Easley, Jimmy Franklin, Larry Swanson and Danny Witzel. Cliff Easley, Jr. will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, John Christian; brothers J.C., John D., Wilbur and Van Davis Doss, and sSister Maurine Easley.
