Georgia Conner

Georgia Mae Crutchfield Conner, 83, passed away peacefully at Baptist Nursing Home in Calhoun City Tuesday, Jan. 8. Born February 5, 1935, in Calhoun City, she was the daughter of George and Hattie Bumgart Crutchfield. She graduated from Calhoun City High School, and was a member of Derma Baptist Church. On April 14, 1979, she married her loving husband, Hairl. She loved getting out and visiting with people, especially family. Her hands were never still as she loved to work, cook and crochet. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but they know she is rejoicing in her Heavenly home.

There will also be a visitation Thursday, Jan. 10  from 5-7 pm at Pryor Funerl Home in Calhoun City. A service celebrating her life will be Friday at 2 pm at the funeral home with Bro. Danny Spratlin and Bro. Keith Spratlin  officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek. Serving as pallbearers will be Chester Ray Dye, Richard Carpenter, Charles York and Buster Russell. 

She leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Hairl Conner; sisters-in-law, Mary George, Ruby (Dewey) Orr, Nettie (Mike) Mason, and Sarah Conner, all of Calhoun City;  niece, Inez Laughlin , Olive Branch,; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Edward Poe, and sister, Gladys Lawrence.
