Nancy Faith Petros, 71, of Oxford took her first breath in Heaven late in the evening June 14, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born on July 12, 1947 in Potlockney Community to the late Jimmy William and Johnnie Sharp Gregory.

She retired from the University of Mississippi after two and half decades as an administrative assistant. She made history in Lafayette County as a member of the last graduating class at Yocona High School. She had many hobbies such as working in the dirt cultivating a beautiful garden, using her creativity to fabricate unique crafts and sewing projects. Above all her crafting and cultivating, she deeply cherished her grandchildren and made sure they were loved and never went without. More importantly, she praised and worshiped her Lord at New El Bethel Baptist Church where she served as a member.

She leaves her devoted husband James Petros; daughter, Debbie (Johann) Verret, Collierville, Tn.; granddaughters, Abbie and Isabelle Verret; sister, Jeanie (Danny) Harwell, Oxford.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy William and Johnnie Sharp Gregory; brother, Butch Gregory; sisters, Lura McDonald, Michelle Barlow Poynor and Tina Foster.

The family will receive friends  Monday June 17 from 5-8 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce. In addition to visitation, a celebration of life will be Tuesday, June 18 at New El Bethel Baptist Church in Oxford at 2 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Snow leading the service. Al McDonald, James Petros Jr., Johann Verret, Johnny McDonald, Josh Roggie and Roe Gregory will serve as pallbearers carrying her to rest in New El Bethel Cemetery.
