Robert Wayne Harrison, 75, of Bruce, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020, at Diversicare in Eupora. Born October 2, 1944 in Coffeeville, he was the son of Faye Harrison Allred.
A Private First Class, he fought to protect his beloved country’s safety and freedom during the Vietnam conflict. With a love for the outdoors, he was a true sportsman with a passion for deer hunting and crappie fishing. Not only did he enjoy patently waiting for a deer or fish, but was also an expert in cultivating a bountiful vegetable garden. He lived upon the level and by the square as member of Bruce Masonic Lodge. He was a proud veteran and member of American Legion.
Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy Hall Harrison; brothers, James Allred, Maben; E.B. Allred, Bellefontaine; Anthony Allred, Pontotoc; sisters, Joan Allred, Derma, and Brenda Allred, Calhoun City; step-daughter, Kathy Zamaron, Pearland, TX; grandchildren, Joshua (Kayla) Calderon, Pontotoc, and Derek (Pricilla) Zamarron, Pearland, TX, and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Jason Wayne Harrison; mother, Faye Harrison Allred, and step-daughter, Sherri Allred.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 18 from 5 -8 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce. A graveside service will take place in Nacogdoches, Texas at Rock Springs Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Pritte proving words of comfort.
