Bobbie Nell Blount, 89, of Calhoun City, died February 9, 2020 at Bruce Community Living Center. Born November 14, 1930 in Chickasaw County, she was the daughter of Aron Chesley Bray and Mattie Lou Lovelace Bray Roper.
She was a woman with a multitude of marvelous characteristics. A talented soul, skilled at playing piano and organ, and singing. She donated her time and skills to singing schools, instructing students in a variety of musical skills. In addition to her musical abilities, she was a phenomenal cook and found joy in sharing with others her culinary creations. Stitching and mending were in her set of skills as a well-rounded seamstress. As an entrepreneur, she spent many years of her life working alongside her husband as owners of Blount’s Dry Cleaners, and was a fearless bail bonding agent.
She is survived by son A.D. (Linda) Blount, Calhoun City; grandchildren: Doyce (Rena) Blount, Daniel Blount, and Allison (Justin) Nichols; 10 great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husband Wilburn Blount; son Wendell Blount; grandchildren, James Devin and Beverly Nicole Blount, and brothers, A.C., Bill and Lee Ottis Bray.
She will lie in repose from 1-3 PM Thursday, Feb. 13 at Grace Fellowship Church in Calhoun City for friends and family to pay their respects. A celebration of life will begin at 3 in the sanctuary of Grace Fellowship Church with Dr. John Warren and Bro. Jack Inmon leading the celebration. Barry Blount, Daniel Blount, David Jordan, Justin Nichols, and Mark Bray will carry Bobbie to her resting place in the serene Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
