Edna Harrison Chapman, 87, of Coffeeville, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. She was born December 16, 1926 in Yalobusha County, to the late Lee and Susie McCammon Harrison. Edna worked as a seamstress for Pennaco in Grenada, where she retired after 27 years of service, then worked another 17 years for Kellwood in Coffeeville. She was a member of Coffeeville Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening, going to yard sales, spending time with her family, friends and her dog, “puppy”.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Yalobusha County. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2 pm Thursday, March 16, with Bro. Truman Scarborough, Bro. Larry Kilgore and Bro. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Chapman; her sister, Bessie Kilgore; her brother, Marvie Lee Harrison (Drucilla); two grandsons, Rodney Harrison and Derek Harrison all of Coffeeville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Byford and Beth Ann Dillard; four brothers, Jackson Harrison, Everette Harrison, Charles Harrison and Durwood Harrison.
