SFC Kenneth Wayne Stone, 79, of Calhoun City, died July 3, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Calhoun City. He was born March 29, 1941, in Pontotoc. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Vardaman. He was a registered prosthetic technician and member of the Mississippi Army National Guard from which he retired March 29, 2001. After retiring from making prosthetics, he started selling tools and handles for tools, traveling all over the area and meeting lots of people and making lots of friends.
He is survived by his wife, Marcell Howell Stone; son Wayne (Nikki) Stone, Calhoun City; sisters Vickie (Mack) Darnell, Abbeville; Reda (Tommy) Mcfarland, Hot Springs Village, Ar.; brothers: Charles (Sue) Stone, Potts Camp; Billy (Dell) Stone, Strayhorn, and David (Alice) Stone, Hernando. He is preceded in death by his mother, Therrie Higginbottom Stone, father Charles Clifton Stone, sisters Frances Savoie, Jean Starks, Mildred Hamilton, Sue Coats, Virginia Murphree, Barbara Cardwell and Brenda Barnett.
His funeral service is Monday, July 6 at 10:30 a.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. Burial will be in Oak Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shane Stone, Dudley Stone, Scott Murphree, Tim Cardwell, William Chandler, and Mike Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Parker and Robert Earl McGregor.
