James Lawrence “Jim” Giompoletti, 73, died Saturday, March 15, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was retired from MS&V Railroad and Memphis Hardwood Flooring Company. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at By Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Winford Turner officiating. Burial will be in Pontotoc Memorial Garden. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Opal Annette Hill Giompoletti; daughters, Tina Louise (Sonny) Saxon, Pontotoc; Tamela Mechele Giompoletti, Ecru; Tisha Anna Maria Giompoletti, Pontotoc; sons, James Anthony “Tony” (Amanda) Giompoletti, Ecru; Timothy Toy “Timmy” (Kasi) Giompoletti, Pontotoc; grandchildren; six brothers, Joe (Mildred) Giompoletti, Hot Springs, Ar.; Johnny (Rennie) Giompoletti, Cleveland; Charles Giompoletti, Indianola; Paul (Debbie) Giompoletti, Florence; Robert (Ann) Giompoletti, Madison; Henry (Vickie) Giompoletti, Marianna, Ar., and sister, Mary Louise Sheffield, Olive Branch. He was preceded in death by his father, Merico Giompoletti; his mother, Vallie Giompoletti; and a brother-in-law, Embory Sheffield. Pallbearers will be Timmy Giompoletti, Tony Giompoletti, Russell Mahan, Derik Bradley, Mitchell Hurst and Robert Arbuckle. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
