Larry Dean Murphree, 67, passed from this life Monday, October 26, 2020, at BMH in Oxford. Born September 5, 1953, in New Castle, Wy., he was a son of Bobby Dean and Carolyn Williams Murphree.
A devoted father and husband, he spent many seasons of his life with his bride, Sandra Hinton Murphree, by his side. The couple spent timeless years together filled many precious memories.
Larry found a career with American Furniture as a supervisor until retirement called his name. With retirement came spare time and he used this new found time to enjoy God’s creation, the great outdoors. While enjoying the outdoors he could be found awaiting a deer in hopes of a good hunt. He also enjoyed coasting the roadways on his motorcycle. As a faithful servant to God and minister of His word he was a member at Point of Faith Church in New Albany. He didn’t simply pass away, he held in his soul the cure to death, a relationship with the Lord.
He leaves a loving family to carry his memory: devoted wife, Sandra Gail Hinton Murphree; son Justin (Mallory) Murphree, Randolph; daughter Deanna (Aaron) Myhand,Ecru; sisters, Nanci (Joel) Gray, Houlka; Gail Cornelius, Oneonta, Al., and grandchildren, Alauna and Garrison Myhand, and Brady Dean Murphree. He was preceded in death by his parents.
His funeral service was in the chapel of Parker Memorial Funeral Home October 28 with Pastor Russell Trimm officiating. Brody Cornelius, Joel Gray, Joseph Gray, Bobby Lynn Hinton, Bobby Ray Hinton, Garrison Myhand, Junior Warren, and D.L. Winter carried him to his resting place in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
