Jimmie Dee McCormick

Jimmie Dee Wait McCormick, 90, of Bruce departed this life February 9, 2021, at Bruce Community Living Center. She was born May 24, 1930 to James Wesley and Maudie Blount Wait. She spent much of her life as a teacher assistant at Bruce Elementary School. She also began each school day early and ended it late as a school bus driver. She raised cattle alongside her husband G.V. until his passing in 2003. With a strong work ethic in her soul she continued raising cattle until she was 80. She could often be found tending to her vegetable garden, and she was a member of Robbs Baptist Church.
She leaves sons, Dave (Deb) McCormick, Houlka, and Jeff McCormick, Bruce; daughter, Paula (Curt) Tunnell, Pittsboro; grandchildren, Clint McCormick, Cameron (Braeden) Reynolds, Caylee McCormick, Nick Tunnell, Caden Tunnell, Katie (Justin) Cox, Josh Tallent; six great grandchildren, and sister Ernestine (Donis) Jeffcoat, Soso.She was preceded in death by her husband G.V.; her parents, and sisters Billy Jean Logan and Marie Ferguson.
Her funeral service was February 12 at Parker Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Chrestman and Bro. Scotty Bland officiating. Steven Cox, Clint McCormick, Braeden Reynolds, Colin Tallent, Caden Tunnell, and Nick Tunnell will carry her to rest in Robbs Cemetery.
