Dixie Davis, 82, of Bruce, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Calhoun Health Services in Calhoun City. She was born March 4, 1932 in Ellard, the daughter of the late E.L. Steele and the late Helen McKibben Steele. She worked for the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi for over 30 years. She was a member of Ellard Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, James Ray (Camille)Davis, Jr., New Albany; John Steele Davis, Water Valley; Andy Davis, Bruce, and Alan Davis, Birmingham, AL; daughters, Karen (Jim) Smith, Carthage, and Deanna (Ricky) Ott, Collierville, TN; brother, Bobby Steele, Calhoun City; sister, Bess Jenkins, Grenada, and grandchildren, Jes Smith, Jennifer Overcash, Kyle Davis, Christopher Davis, Andrew Ott, Eric Ott, Madeline Ott; and three great-grandchildren. She was the wife of the late James Ray Davis Sr. and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sherri Jill Davis, and a sister, Betty Jenkins.
Her funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Kevin Chrestman officiating and Dr. Bobby Douglas assisting. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the funeral service. Burial will be in Rapers Chapel Cemetery, Bruce. Pallbearers will be Christopher Davis, Kyle Davis, Andrew Ott, Eric Ott, Brad Overcash and Jes Smith.
