Joe Edward Hardin, 86, died at Winona Manor in Winona Monday, April 4. He was born in Montgomery County on March 22, 1930, to Lee Roy and Elwin Burke Hardin. He was a retired employee of the U. S. Postal Service and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Winona and member of the Mississippi Baptist Disaster Relief Team. He was very active in missions work and enjoyed traveling.
Funeral services for Joe Edward Hardin, 86, of Winona will be Thursday, Apr. 7 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Winona, with burial following in the Winona Garden of Memory. Dr. Tim Mims and Rev. John L. Walker will officiate the services.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, from 5-7 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Janna (Jack) Combes, Madison; sons, Mike (Debra) Hardin, Winona, and Barry (Tommye) Hardin; sister, Joan McNeer Cox, Winona; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mae H. Hardin; sister, Ellanor Calhoun; and brother, Vernon Hardin.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hardin, Jonathan Hardin, Clay Hardin, Cole Green, Cole Surrell, and Patrick Morrison. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of First Baptist Church.
