Thomas Morgan

Thomas Richard Morgan, 72, of Vardaman, died Monday, May 23, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Born September 27, 1943 in Vardaman, he was the son of the late James Richard “Treetop” and Virginia Hollingsworth Morgan.  He was a graduate of Vardaman High School and attended ICC Junior College playing football. He was a veteran of the MS  National Guard where he served during Iraqi Freedom and he was a member of Bailey Memorial Methodist Church. During most of his life he worked in the construction industry.

Surviving are son, Jordan Horton, Oxford; daughter, Larissa Brook (Greg) Bell, Tupelo; grandchildren, Victoria J. Waller, Morgan Nicole Waller, Jonathan Thomas Waller, Evelyn Alissa Bell, Coby Tyler Bell, David Allen Bell and Ashley Bell Wallace. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters, Linda Carol Lancaster and Shelia Tedder.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 24 from 5-8 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardaman.

His funeral service will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander and Bro. Mike Ramage officiating. Interment will be in Midway Cemetery in Vardaman. Pallbearers will be Jason Bailey, Trey Bailey, Albert Dewitt, David Dewitt, John Lancaster, Mike Morgan, Terry Rhodes and Jerry Wiggs. Honorary pallbearers are John Jasper Adams, James Barnette, Payton Edmondson, James Marshall Casey, Robert Lee Claek, James Foster, Kenny Hamilton, Bobby High, Wendell Lancaster, Ravis Winter and Domino Club Friends.
