Kenny “Cornbread” Thornburg

Kenny Thornburg, AKA “Cornbread”, died Friday, June 17, 2016 at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was born October 24, 1962 in Rockford, IL to Johnnie and Donna Hada Thornburg. He was an avid Indiana Colts fan who enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, NASCAR racing and playing with his dog “Boo-Boo”. He was a fun-loving person and always the “life of the party”. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 22 at 10 a.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Justin Gates officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Water Valley, with Scott Alexander, Billy Lamb, Erick Lamb, Lamar Cummings, Emmett Cook and Robert Golden serving as pallbearers. Jim Davis will serve as honorary pallbearer.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Thornburg, Water Valley; two step-daughters, Jennifer (Jimmy) Hall of Longtown, and Michelle McCulloch, Sarah; two step-sons, Dale (Brooke) Lamb, Longtown, and Daniel (Ethel) Lamb, Jr., Crenshaw; two sisters, Lisa (William Frank) McCool, Southaven, and Debra (Donald) Corder, Roscoe, IL; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
