Billy Joe Wooten

Billy Joe Wooten, 76, of Vardaman went to his heavenly home Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in Oxford. He was born October 16, 1940 in Chickasaw County, the son of William Oscar and Josie Lewis Wooten. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a retired Shop Supervisor from MPI Industries in Houston.  He will also be remembered for his 25 years with Hawkins Ford Motor Company in Calhoun City.

Pryor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 2:00pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Gilder and Bro. Bobbie Brock officiating. There will also be a visitation from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Vardaman.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Stroup, Doug James, Robert Lishman, Davin Parker, Tim Jack Edmondson, and John Scott Edmondson.

He is survived by two sons, David Wooten of Vardaman and Charlie (Gail) Wooten of Houston, MS; a brother, Johnny Earl (Sammie) of Saltillo, MS; special nephews, Robert Wooten of Guntown, MS and John Wooten of Belden, MS. Four grandchildren, Ashley and Sarah Wooten of Vardaman, Scott (Kari) Gann of Houston and Kaliegh Parker of Banner and four great-grandchildren, J.T., Millie, Leilani and David.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife Miss Ann Gillespie Wooten.
