Jerry Louis Parker, 65 , passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 25, 2017. He was born November 7, 1951 in Vardaman. He was a graduate of Vardaman High School class of 1969. He was a funeral director, insurance sales representative, former employee of Caviness Woodworking and a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Ivan and Effie Lorene Lester Parker; sister, Mary Ruth Keel, and brothers, James and Morris Parker.
Those left to honor him are the mother of his children, Karen Parker, Vardaman; daughter, Carla Milette (Mitchell) Russell, Mantee; sons, Jerry Bradford (Mary Ann) Parker, Nesbit, and Jon (Melissa) Parker, Pontotoc; sisters, Vera Nell Smith, Plano, TX; Peggy Jennings, Greenwood, and Debbie Wiggs, Calhoun City; grandchildren, Stephen and John Luke Parker, Zane and Zoey Crowley, and step-grandchildren, Hunter, Madison and Hannah Russell.
Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 27, from 1 p.m. until time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce. Burial will follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Vance will be officiating the service. Pallbearers will be Ross Cardwell, Jerry Fleming, Stephen Jennings, Stephen Parker, Randy Reynolds, Donnie Smith, Stacy Spratlin and Larry Wiggs. Honorary pallbearers are Cole Gary, Jason Jennings, Charles Lafayette, Bobby Parker and Connor Spratlin.
