Mildred Watford Rabun, 95, of Eupora, passed away peacefully at MS State Veterans Nursing Home in Jackson September 5, 2017. Born September 20, 1921, she was the daughter of Jim and Dora Hooker Watford. She was a retired seamstress from Wells Lamont in Eupora, and a member of Tri-County Baptist Church. At the age of 17, she left South Carolina and traveled out west to South Dakota where she enlisted in the military. She served as a private in the United States Army, and is a veteran of the 2nd World War. She loved cooking, as well as traveling and being outdoors in her garden or spending time with a fishing pole in her hands. A very high spirited and outgoing woman, her memory will be cherished forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
A funeral service celebrating her life was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Providence Cemetery in Choctaw County. Pryor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Harold Rabun; brothers, Dan and Arthur A. Watford, and Wilford Ivanhoe.
