Gladys Perkins

Gladys Avent Williams Perkins, 84, of Coffeeville, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at her residence.  She was born March 25, 1929 to the late Benjamin and Edna Fly Williams.  She had worked as an LPN for 46 years at the Grenada Hospital, Yalobusha General Hospital and Nursing Home and in the clinics of several local physicians.  She was a Baptist.  Funeral services were held Sunday, February 23, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Rev. Truman Scarborough, Dr. Thad Moore and Rev. Michael Haas officiating.  Interment followed in the Coffeeville Cemetery. Survivors include three daughters, Debra Beckwith, Jennifer Martin and Dawn Tackett, all of Coffeeville; one son, Ronnie Perkins, Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Kimberly Joy Allen, Brian Griffin Jones and Channing Martin; four great-grandchildren, Alicyn Jones, Megan Jones, Audrey Allen and Jacob Allen.  She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gary Lynn Perkins; two grandsons, Jeremy Cole Tharpe and Robert Jamison Perkins; and a sister, Elizabeth Denley. Pallbearers were Michael Ingram, Bill Loyd Shaw, Brian Jones, Channing Martin, Chance Lewis and David Smith. An online guest registry may be signed at www.parkermemorialfuneralhomes.com Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce has been entrusted with the arrangements.
