Margaret Simmons

Margaret Olivea Baker Simmons, 81, of Grenada, died February 22, 2014 at her home. She was born on March 12, 1932 and was the daughter of the late William Baker and Elsie Mae Nichols Baker of Calhoun City. Margaret was a loving mother, wife, sister, and homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Grenada. Funeral services  are at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at the National Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Ryan of the First Freewill Baptist Church in Batesville, Ar. officiating. Burial will follow in Grenada Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Ferguson, Casey Ferguson, David Clayton, Chad Langkawel, Jimmy Collins and Larry Ralston. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Burks and T.W. Bailey. Visitation is Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at National Funeral Home.  She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband of fifty years, Eddie Jackson Simmons; three brothers, James Baker, Wilmer Baker and Buddy Baker; and one sister, Bonnie Rodgers.Margaret is survived by one daughter, Debra Ares and her husband, Jose, of Batesville, Arkansas; three sons, Billy Simmons and his wife, Jerre, of Enterprise, Alabama, Bobby Simmons and his wife, Teresa, of Mooreville, Mississippi, andJimmy Simmons and his wife, Kathy, of Grenada; one sister, Ouida Marshall of Vardaman, Mississippi; one brother, Charlie Baker of Calhoun City, Mississippi; eleven grandchildren, Steven Simmons, Brittany Dasinger (Jacob), Camille Mangum (Calvin), Jeff Roberts, Cody Langkawel, Chad Langkawl (Mary), Brandy Langkawel , Nicole Langkawel, Dustin Simmons, Nathan Ares, and Rebecca Ares; and ten great-grandchildren. On-line condolences may be made on our website at www.nfhgrenada.com National Funeral Home is in charge.
