Mike Mitchell, 76, died July 19, 2019 with his family by his side, after an extended illness. He was born September 6, 1942 to Roy and Micky Roberts Mitchell. He loved Jesus and accepted the gift of eternal salvation, which showed by his worship and devotion at First Baptist Church of Vardaman.
He was a skilled tradesman his whole life who owned and operated a heavy construction company. Upon retiring from his company, he focused on loving his wife Elizabeth, as he did for 57 years. He was was a giver at heart, and blessed numerous people without wanting recognition. He further enjoyed spending time with his beloved pets Dak, Sally, Little Bit, and cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
He leaves his precious wife; Elizabeth Hardin Mitchell; son, Jody (Glenda) Roberts, Tupelo; daughters, Amy (Kim) Chrestman, Water Valley, and Hope (Tammy Green) Mitchell, Germantown; sisters, Margret Ann Walls and Martha Gail Browning; grandchildren, Anna (Josh) Creekmore, Elizabeth (David) Mejia, and Jared (Emily) Roberts.
His funeral service was Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Vardman with Bro.Al Gaspard, Bro. Jared Roberts and Bro. Johnathan Peeples officiating. He was be laid to rest in Midway Cemetery with Chris Walls, Ernie Gordon, Ethan Parker, Keith Haire, Larry Baker, Mitchell Gordon, Scott Hardin, Tim Broyles serving as pallbearers.
