John (J. T.) Skinner, Jr. passed away Sunday, April 12, 2020. He was born June 12, 1936 in Vardaman to John Skinner, Sr. and Pauline Watkins. He graduated in the class of 1955 from Vardaman High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Mississippi State University. He married the love of his life, Charlotte Young, on September 2, 1961. He was a retired engineer from Mid-South Engineering (Gadsden, AL), and a deacon of Southside Baptist Church (Southside, AL).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Charlotte. He leaves one sister, Peggy Skinner, Vardaman; daughters, Sonya Skinner, Hoover, AL; Amy (Paul) Edmondson, Vardaman; Tara (Shane) Grizzard, Southside, AL; grandchildren, Ashley Hughes, Payton Edmondson, Kenneth Walls, Elizabeth, Emma and Everett Grizzard, and great-grandchild, Sawyer Hughes.
The family had an intimate family graveside service April 16, 2020 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Vardaman.
