Clovis Lynn McCormick, 73, passed this earthly life surrounded by his loving family May 26, 2020 at his home in Bruce. He was born February 14, 1947 in Bruce to Ira and Euris Tutor McCormick. He provided for his family and worked as a tire technician and tire repairman. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshipping with his church family and serving his Lord. He enjoyed being with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the beauty of nature, gardening and especially working in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Idell York and Dorothy Harville; brother, Melvis McCormick and granddaughter, Stephanie McCormick.
Those left to carry on his memory are his wife, Alice Adams McCormick; daughters, Deidre Adams, Bruce; Brooke Simmons, Bruce; Kelci McCormick, Bruce; sons, Lynn McCormick, Gadsden, AL; Craig (Lori) McCormick, Bruce; Matthew (Kimberly) McCormick, Bruce; sister, Bobbie Harvey, Abbeville; brothers, E.L. “Bunky” (Louise) McCormick, J.M. “JamUp” (Virginia) McCormick, J.D. “Peanut” (Virginia) McCormick, all of Bruce; Ottis Wayne “Pop” (Jimmie) McCormick, Saltillo; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A funeral honoring his life will be Friday, May 29, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce at 2 p.m.. with Bro. Craig McCormick, Bro. Eric Payne and Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. He will be laid to rest at Taylor Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Aidan Adams, Archie McCormick, Gary McCormick, Jeremy McCormick, Perry McCormick, Rhett McCormick, Scotty McCormick, Gerald Thompson and Paul Vick. Honorary pallbearers will be Dan Hardin, Harvey Hardin, Roncie Hardin, Corby King, Adam Palazzolo, and Randy Sutton.
