Donald Kent James, 83, of Big Creek, died March 17, 2014 at NMMC in Eupora. He was born December 4, 1930 in Webster County, the son of Fred Eugene James and Nona Chamblee James. He was a self-employed farmer, and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church. He was retired U.S. Army Sergeant and he fought in the Korean War. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. His funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Bradford Chapel Baptist Church in Calhoun City with Rev. Chris Conlee officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Hays, Steve Parker, Thomas James, Steve Swindoll, Zach Hays, and James Sidney Warner. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Anderson James, Big Creek; one daughter, Angela (Joe)?Hays, Walthall; one son, Phillip (Melissa)?James Ellisville, Mo., and three grandchildren.
