Arlie Owen Hughes, 84, of Big Creek, died March 21, 2014 at NMMC in Tupelo. He was born January 28, 1930 in Hardin Co., Tn., the son of John Hughes & Beatrice Blackwelder Hughes. He was a retired machine operator for Harrelson Mfg. and was a member of Amity Church of God. Visitation will be tonight, Friday, from 6-8 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City. His funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at?the funeral home chapel with Bro. Lynn Hughes officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Big Creek. Pallbearers will be Kenny Clanton, T.J. Clanton, Larry Baker, Larry Baker, Jr., Pete Lee, and Wayne Roach. Honorary pallbearer is Cole Baker. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Clanton Hughes, Big Creek; his brother, Allen (Dorothy) Hughes, Big Creek, and a host of nieces and nephews.
