Sam Parker

Sam was born to Forrest D. and Allie Dee Parker September 6, 1931, in Vardaman. He graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1949 and Mississippi State University in 1953 with a degree in Business Administration. In 1966, he moved his family to Maitland, Fl. to work as a sales representative for Mueller Company.

After he retired, he started the family business, T&R Tapping Service, that served his community for 30 years. He was a life time member of The American Water Works Association and The Southern Natural Gas Association. He and his family were charter members of The First Baptist Church of Maitland.

He leaves his strong and loving wife of 68 years, Thelma Letchworth Parker. Together, they had three children, Sam (Luanne), Susan (Bob) and Bob. He was a proud “Pop” to grandchildren, Brent (Brittany), Tori (Frank), Ryan, McKenzie, Tim (Brandee), and James. He was also blessed with  great-grandchildren Liam, Grant and Beckett. He was predeceased by his angel great-grandson, Teagen. He also leaves loving family members in his beloved home state of Mississippi--sisters, Clarice Spradling, Bruce, and Louise Ferguson, Cleveland. He was a proud “Unc” to many loving nieces and nephews. He was a man who truly loved his family.
