Marietta Williams

Marietta Bullard Williams, 94, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born March 26, 1920, to John Roy Bullard and Martha Brown Bullard in Wilson, Ar.
   She was a bookkeeper for Weyerhaeuser until she retired in 1983.  She was a charter member of Bruce First United Methodist Church and was instrumental in its construction by raising money through baking and selling her famous pecan pies. She loved fishing with her husband, John to whom she was married 69 years prior to his death in 2008. She most loved bragging about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
   Survivors are her daughter, Beth Williams and husband, Larry of Tupelo; her sons, John Elbert “Buddy” Williams, III and wife, Anne of Pensacola, Florida, David Allen “Al” Williams and wife, Sandra of Senatobia, MS; her grandchildren, Roy Williams, David Williams, Stacy Taylor, Allison Burris, Kendall Meeks, Chris Williams, Jonathan Williams, Brian Williams, Josh Williams, Zack Williams, Michael Williams, Whitney Payne, Katie McDuffie; her great-grandchildren, Laura Burris, Seth Burris, Mary Kathryn Taylor, Alexandra Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Emilee Taylor, Claire Meeks, Meredith Meeks, Laine Williams, Dylan Williams, Veazey Williams, Oliver Williams, Adam Williams, Andrew Williams, Lydia Williams, Mary Wren Williams, Nicholas Williams, John David Williams, Sutton Payne, Foster Payne, Hudson Payne, Owen McDuffie, Eli McDuffie, Maris McDuffie, Austin Rice, and Baylee Alsgood.
   She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John Williams in 2008, and her sister, Louise Bullard Norman.
   Pallbearers are Roy Williams, David Williams, Michael Williams, Chris Williams, Jonathan Williams, Brian Williams, and Josh Williams.
   Services will be held at the Bruce First United Methodist Church, in Bruce, at 11:00 AM Friday, May 2, 2014, with Rev. Rex Wilbourn and Rev. Lanis May officiating. Burial will follow at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, MS.   Visitation will begin at 10:00 until the 11:00 AM funeral service Friday, May 2, 2014, at Bruce First United Methodist Church, in Bruce, MS. Houston Funeral Home of Houston is in charge of the arrangements.
