Virginia Anderson Stewart, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at Calhoun City Nursing Home. She was born September 30, 1937 in Water Valley, to the late Robert and Pauline Carter Anderson. She was a retired seamstress for Big Yank in Water Valley, and a member of the Water Valley Assembly of God church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and working in her flower gardens. She loved everyone and was always helping others in need. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and treasured time spent with her family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 1, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Keith Burney officiating. Burial will be in the Palestine Cemetery in Yalobusha County. She is survived by her daughters, Janeen (Bill) Henry and Peggy (Roger) Baggett; two sisters, Mary Lois Landreth and Amy Brown; her children’s father, Earl Stewart, all of Water Valley; five grandchildren, Amanda (Raul) Guzman of Oxford, MS, Cliff Rodgers of Oxford, MS, Brandon Baggett of Oxford, MS, T. J. Prince of Batesville, MS and Angela (Joe) Barton of Oakland, MS; ten great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Earl Stewart.
