Janice Neal

Janice Hasting Neal died June 25, 2015 at Wisteria Gardens in Pearl, MS. She was born in Bruce on December 29, 1925 to Zack and Maudie Beckett Hasting, the seventh of eight children. She married Charles Neal on October 3, 1942. This marriage brought three children: David , Charlotte, and Donna.
Known to most as Momie, she enjoyed working in her yard and spoiling her grandchildren and their many friends who were always welcome at her home. The more that came, the happier she was. She and Charles enjoyed camping with the grandchildren, collecting antiques, and spending winters in Florida until he was no longer able.
She is survived by son David (Valerie) Neal of Sebastopol, MS, and daughter Donna (Jimmy) of Pearl, and a son by choice Robert (Anita) Mc Arty of Brandon. She also is survived by eight grandchildren: Donnie (Jennifer) Weeks of Hernando; Benjy (Emiy) Parker of Hernando; Davy (Allison) Neal of Pearl; Bubba (Amanda) Weeks of Bruce; Josh (Hollie) Parker of Panama City Beach, Florida; Sara Neal of Lufkin, Texas; Cody (Emily) Weeks of Bruce; and Jan Neal of Pearl; and 12 great grandchildren. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her daughter Charlotte Weeks. She also follows to Heaven five sisters: Irene Snellings, Zoie McKibben, Loretta Vanlandingham, Aneeda Marie Blount, and Mary Crumby and one brother Zack Rabon (Z.R.) Hasting, Jr.
The six grandsons Donnie, Benjy, Davy, Bubba, Josh, and Cody will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Snellings, Larry Snellings, Bruce Longest, Larry Mason, Steve Ferguson, Larry Bennett, and Brooks Collins.
The family will receive friends at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Monday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce at 2:00 pm, with Bro. Darrell Logan officiating. Burial will follow at Bruce Cemetery.
