Loyce Jones Cole, 93, of Pittsboro, died Friday, July 17, 2015 at North MS Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. She was born March 31, 1922 in Yalobusha County, the daughter of William H. Jones and Effie Shankle Jones. She was a homemaker and member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church.
Her funeral service was Sunday, July 19, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City with Bro. Daniel Herring, Bro. Jimmy Rich and Bro. Larry Haggard officiating. Burial was in Rocky Mount Cemetery in Vardaman. Pallbearers were Richard Morgan, Michael Haire, Timothy Parker, Lane Parker, Joseph Parker, Brian Grissom and Brandon Grissom.
She is survived by three daughters, Barbara (J.C.) Haire, Pittsboro; Hilda Grissom, Iuka; Deborah (Larry) Taylor, Byram; four sisters, Ruby Myers, Port Natchez, TX; Jewel Herring, Morton; Virginia Hoffpauir, Mineola, TX; Betty Kirkpatrick, Conehatta, MS; one brother, Tom Jones, Carthage; five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and nine step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Cole; her parents, four sisters, six brothers, and a son-in-law.
