Maggie Campbell

Sister Maggie Lee Campbell was born June 27, 1928, in Water Valley, to the parents of Ben Campbell and Della Katherine Hall Campbell. She was the baby girl of nine children and all eight siblings preceded her in death–Cleo Campbell Wright, Maebell Campbell Phillips, Theron Campbell, Worthan Campbell, Bennie Campbell, Tom Presley Campbell, Roy Winston Campbell and Exric Campbell. She died Sunday, September 22, 2013 at the age of 85.

Sister Campbell accepted Christ as her personal savior and joined Everdale Missionary Baptist Church in Water Valley and remained a faithful member until her health failed. During her active years at Everdale M.B. Church, she was a dedicated member of the choir and served as president of the Pastor’s Aide Club. Although she is resting with God, she leaves to mourn and to cherish her memories: a daughter, Katherine Campbell (Harry) Hervey, Oxford; five grandsons, Anthony (Paula) Oxford; Samuel (Trice) and Barry, Chicago, IL; Jack (Diane) and Harry, Monroe, LA; two granddaughters, Paulie Ann (Bryan) Gilliom, Oxford, and Yolanda (Cedric) Cobbs, Tupelo; 38 great-grandchildren; a caregiver, Russell Kuykendall; a special friend and neighbor, Ethel Morgan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Five grandchildren preceded her in death. Visitation is planned for Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Services are planned for 11 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Everdale M. B. Church with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Water Valley.
