Harley Lee Winter, 87, of Bruce, died at his home Sunday, September 25, 2016. Born August 27, 1929, he was the son of James Enoch and Rena Parker Winter Cooner. He was retired from body work and painting. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and member of Antioch Baptist Church. He was an avid coon hunter and lover of outdoor living and wood working.
Surviving are his wife, Charlene Davis Winter, Bruce; sons, Mike (Robbie) Winter, Bruce, and Richard (Becky) Winter, Bruce; daughters, Wanda (Dale) Patterson, Bruce, and Lori (Gary) Washington, Houlka; brother, Levoy Winter, West Point; sisters, Dorothy Stacy, Water Valley, and Jessie Cooner, Water Valley; 14 grandchildren, Angie Kelley, Tangie Washington, Crystal Garcia, Stacy Graefe, Robert Allen Patterson, Ginger York, Joey Winter, Matt Winter, Sean Jeffreys, Chase Washington, Brandon Winter, Austin Winter, Parker Winter, Ashley Winter, two adopted grandchildren, Jamie Russell and Josh Russell, and 22 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by son, Tony (Joy) Winter; grandson, Tony Mac Winter; brothers, Charles and Billy Gene Cooner, and sister, Lavonia Winter.
His funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Logan and Bro. Josh Gordon officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery in Bruce. Pallbearers will be Sean Jeffreys, Robert Allen Patterson, Jamie Russell, Chase Washington, Austin Winter, Brandon Winter, Joey Winter, Matt Winter, and Parker Winter. Honorary pallbearers are great grandsons.
The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce.
