Maeford Logan Winter

Maeford V. Logan Winter, 89, passed away September 24, 2016 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born September 17, 1927 in Bruce, to Warren and Bessie Sartin Logan.  She was an avid and loving member of First Pentecostal Church in West Point.  She was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.  She married David Levoy Winter September 20, 1942 in Bruce. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Eaton; one sister: Carris Crocker, and three brothers: Willie, Randle, and Denzel Logan.

Her funeral service was Monday at 1 p.m. at First Pentecostal Church in West Point with Reverend Stanley Blaylock officiating, assisted by Reverend Mike McPherson. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years, David Levoy Winter, West Point; her four daughters, Joan Kyzar, Bogue Chitta; Dianne Fondren, Brooksville; Angela (Jeff) Holcombe, West Point, and Renee (Terry) Benson, West Point; her son, James Paul “J.P.” (Shirley) Winter, West Point; son-in-law, Eddie Eaton, Macon; 18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Chris Britt, Karl Jernigan, Tommy Jernigan, Tucker Griggs, Hunter Griggs and Austin King. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Edmund Miller, NMMC  Hospice Staff, and members of First Pentecostal Church in West Point.
