Charles Winfred Poynor, 78, of Banner, died Monday, October 24, 2016, at MyKales in New Albany.
Born March 29, 1938, he was the son of the late Nathaniel Davis Poynor and the late Lila Pearl Harrison Poynor.
He was the husband of the late Wanda Braddock Poynor.
He graduated from Bruce High School in 1957. He was a retired construction superintendent for Endevco, Inc. He enjoyed farming as a hobby. He was a member of Lantrip Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crises. He was a devoted Ole Miss Rebel fan and was known for his warm personality and charming smile.
Surviving are son, Jeff (Amy) Poynor of Banner, Mississippi; daughters, Connie (Larry) Ramsey of Pontotoc, Misssissippi and Holly (Brad) Henry of New Albany, Mississippi; sister, Bobbie Rooker of Okolona, Mississippi; six grandchildren, Enid McFall, Nathaniel Charles Poynor, Ruby Ellynn Poynor, Logan Ramsey, Mary Charles Ramsey, and Luke Henry; two great grandchildren, Mason McFall and Baylor McFall; and loving friend and companion, Barbara Turner of Bruce, Mississippi.
He was predeceased by brothers, Carl, Eula, Layburn, and Pete Poynor; sisters, Shirley Stone, Reba Barefield, Lois
Crutchfield, Myrle Barfield and Hazel Harrison; and granddaughter, Erika Poynor.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Brother David Laman and Brother Robert Earl Alexander officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Bruce, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Benny Barefield, Danny Barfield, Donnie Bennett, Jeff Cannon, Billy Glenn Crutchfield, Kent Howell, Billy
Poynor, Dean Poynor, Otis Poynor, and Mike Rooker.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Parker Memorial Funeral Home,
476 Highway 9 North, Bruce, Mississippi.
