James Byford

James Anderson Byford, 89, of Coffeeville, passed away Wednesday, Sept.r 18, 2019 at Baptist Memorial Hospital--North Mississippi in Oxford. He was born May 25, 1930 in Yalobusha County to John Edward and Myrtle Ray Jones Byford. He had worked many years as a self-employed mechanic and auto body professional. He honorably served our country in the US Army and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Funeral services were Saturday at First Baptist Church in Coffeeville with Dr. Clarence Cooper and Rev. Craig Baker officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. McKibben and Guinn were in charge of the funeral arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Byford;  daughters, Janice (Dan) Baker, Coffeeville; Sheila Benoist, Collierville, TN; Leslie (Donny) Johnsey, Coffeeville; sons, Johnny Byford, Coffeeville; Jimmy (Lisa) Byford, Coffeeville; Gary Byford, Coffeeville;  brother, John Carl (Louise) Byford; grandchildren, Jeremy Byford, Craig Baker, Barry Baker, Brandi Harrison, Lindsey Byford, Kim Ayers, Megan Baker, Brandon Harrison, Karrie Byford, Max Benoist, Casey Gaines, Taylor Benoist, and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents;  sisters, Mary Louise Graham and Nancy Fly; brothers, Charles Ray and Edward Criss Byford and grandson, Cody Spencer Byford.

Pallbearers were Justin Ayers, Barry Baker, Max Benoist, Jeremy Byford, Clarence Cooper III, and Brandon Harrison.
