James Anthony “Tony” Arnold, 77, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Grenada Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. He was born June 8, 1942 in Calhoun County to James Everett and Virginia Ruth Brown Arnold. He retired as a foreman after 44 years of service at Pennaco Hosiery in Grenada. He also honorably served our country retiring as a Command Sergeant Major with the Mississippi Army National Guard. Following his retirement, he worked a number of years at Lakeway Sporting Goods in Grenada. He was an avid outdoorsman always enjoying hunting and fishing. He also ran in 21 marathons through the years. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Calhoun County.
A graveside service is Wednesday, Apr. 22 at Chapel Hill Cemetery at Big Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Coker Arnold; daughter, Donna Arnold (Donnie) Mills, Grenada; son, Jamie Arnold, Gore Springs; brother, Bill (Kathy) Arnold, Germantown, TN; grandchildren, Tabitha 9Bryan) Nail, Courtney Marter, Meagan Kemp, Brittany Haddon, Austin and James Michael Arnold, and great-grandchildren, Bailee Nail, Noah and Millsie Marter and Harlan Kemp. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patsy Dyess.
Pallbearers will be Jason Golding, Al Hankins, Dusty Rainey and Mike Staten.
